The Commercial Products Industry

CBS began its commercial products projects with Procter & Gamble. P&G needed to gather data from its distributors to track indirect sales (sales not sold directly by P&G). The sales were required to support very expensive projects like the Folgers ® Beverage Equipment and Service Program. In essence, P&G had millions of dollars in assets to manage. In order to do so, they needed to know which food service operators were buying enough to justify the P&G owned equipment in their locations.

CBS began to gather data from the commercial products distributors and scrub that data. Scrubbing means taking data from many different sources and compiling it into standardized, unduplicated electronic formats to meet P&G systems requirements. To the P&G data systems, our data scrubbing process creates a data stream that looks like a single standardized electronic data feed, even though the normalized data stream started from from hundreds of different formats, both electronic and paper data! The perfect dream for database systems! CBS even helps manufacturers mange the data necessary for the contract management and deviated billing systems.

CBS has experience with the following Commercial Products divisions: Food Service, C-Stores, Chains, Health Care, Jan/San, and Paper products.

Currently, CBS does this gathering for Procter & Gamble, Vitality Food Service, Hormel Foods, and Gillette with new clients coming on board. CBS has successfully tracked data from over a thousand foodservice distributors, mostly electronic, to feed to our customers' systems.
